Now You See Them, Now You Don't

I borrowed the satellite photographs below from the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies, via the National Weather Service.  They show the difference a few weeks can make in the fall...after the leaves change colors and begin falling from the trees.

The top photo was taken on October 4th.  Notice the general "green-ness" of the state of Wisconsin.  This was before most of the leaves started to turn from green to their various shades of brown, yellow and red.

The bottom photo was taken on October 29th.  Wow!  Most leaves had changed by the point...and many lawns and field had begun to turn brown.
