I Didn't Expect This

After all of the back-and-forth, and hashing-and-rehashing of the whole Brett Favre thing over the summer, I concluded one thing:  It would sure be interesting to watch how Brett does as a member of the Jets.

And I meant that literally. 

I expected that I would watch all of the Jets games that were on TV.  And for the one's that weren't, I figured I'd keep close track on the internet.

You know what?

As it turns out...I'm not that interested.

Brett was and is my favorite Packer ever...and I was very sad when it became official that he was leaving.

However, now that he's gone, and playing for a team with a different logo on his helmet, my interested in him went away quicker than I expected.

I guess it's just that he's not "our guy" anymore.

Not only that, but he plays for a team in the AFC, so his games won't have much of an impact on the Packers fortunes this year.

Brett will probably be "our guy" again.  A year or two or three after he retires from the Jets, we'll all forget about his brief visit to New York...and we can resume feeling all warm and fuzzy about all of the wonderful times we shared with him.

But for now, I guess when he moved on, so did I.
