I Know Some Of You Did This Too

Sunday was one of the bigger sports days in Wisconsin in a long time.

Of course a Sunday in September means a Packer game.  It also means a Brewers game...but usually we don't care much as we're usually eliminated from playoff contention by now.  This year we cared a lot.

So we Brewer/Packer fans had to get creative as to how to keep track of both games as they were going on at the same time.

I think I did a pretty good job.

My wife thought I was crazy.

So she took these pictures and said I had to post them here and ask if anyone else did what I did.

I know you are out there.

Here's the set-up I had in front of me.  I brought a 2nd TV into our family room so I could watch both the Brewers game and the Packers game at the same time.  Complicating things a little was the fact that the New York Mets game was on as well.  As you probably know, the Brewers needed the Mets to lose, so that game was of huge importance as well.  I couldn't come up with 3 TVs.  But I was rocking the picture-in-picture and the "previous channel" button on the remote a lot.

Here I am in the command center.  To my left is my laptop which I used to monitor the Mets game, as well as keep track of my fantasy football teams.  On the shelf to the left is a radio...I like to listen to the Brewers games on NewsRadio 620 WTMJ.  On my lap is a copy of ESPN Magazine for those rare moments where all 3 games I was monitoring went to a commercial at the same time.  Note my 2 TV remotes strategically placed on my chair's right armrest.

My wife also wanted to be sure I shared my attire with you.  I know I'm not the only one who went "hybrid".  I went with the Packers shirt and Brewers shorts.  (Also note in the background, next to the photos of my daughters, niece and nephew, the Prince Fielder bobblehead.)

My wife thinks I was nuts.  I believe the word "geek" might also have been used.

I contend that there were hundreds, maybe thousands of family rooms across Wisconsin that were set up on Sunday almost exactly like mine.  Was yours?  Tell me about it... ckoplien@todaystmj4.com
