Monday Night Bowling

By Brian Gotter (WTMJ)

Monday night bowling is always a blast with the guys as we hang out and joke around, watch football (bonus last night..football and World Series) and try to bowl well...last night I bowled the best in a long time, and it should have been even better..  Last week I struggles as I was missing easy spares..the key to the game.  Strikes are great, but you have to make your spares.

I started out with a split in the first frame...oh boy, here we go.  I knew what I did wrong, fixed it and got into groove.  I finished with a 213 and that was getting another split in the 10th..so I blew the 10th frame but still had a 213.  Nice, but frustrating.

The second game was 194 and I missed two spares, but not easy since they were the dreaded 10 pin...some nights I have no problem with the 10 pin, last night was not one of those nights.

I got into a groove again in the third game and started with 5 strikes in a row...every throw just felt good.  I mad a tough spare in the 6th and then started to throw strikes again until the 10th frame.  My first ball was right there and I thought I had another strike, but instead I got the 7-10 split..ouch....I blew the 10th frame again and ended up with a 243.  I am excited for my scores, but at the same time disappointed since they could have been so much better.  I am pumped with my 650, but a 700 has still not been reached.

I have to give a shout out to my friend Goody who bowled over a 700 last night.  He was picking on me, like he likes to do, that maybe he would start a blog so he could post his scores.  He is a busy man so I will do it for him...Nice bowling last night Goody...your Philly's pumped you up.
