It Is Finally Here

By Brian Gotter (WTMJ)

Packers-Vikings!  This game as been circled and prepared for since the schedule came out in April and even more so since Favre joined the Purple.  It's Time!!!

This rivalry is intense and there is no love.  The games are always close..more than 90 meetings and the average point spread is about 1.5.  These games are what football is all about.  Despite losing by 7 in game 1 at the Humpty Dump Dome, the Packers had nearly 500 yards of offense while giving up 8 sacks.  The Vikings scored on the opening drive of the 3rd quarter and that was it in the second half.  I watched the game 3 times.  The Packers looked bad on the O-Line and could not get to Favre, but beyond that, they shut down Peterson and should have scored at will.  THREE times in scoring position and 0 points....0!  One time it took 4 tries on the one and nothing but a dropped wide open pass in the end zone.  While they looked ugly at times, the Packers should have won that game in Minnesota and better be more prepared this week.  Block Allen and hit Favre hard...and WIN!

I predict another classic match up and a Packer victory....28-24.  That means tied for first place as well.
