Habitat for Humanity Pictures

By Brian Gotter (WTMJ)

Here are a few pictures from last weeks Build Week for Habitat for Humanity.

When we arrived Monday morning, there were just basements and a lot of wood to start building.  By 9am the first walls were going up on the 6 homes.

Despite the heat, by Tuesday late afternoon we were on schedule..the second floor was framed.

We had to work fast Wednesday morning to get  all the second floor walls built as the roof trusses were expected before noon.  It was so hot up there in the sun and no wind, but we had a great crew working on the 400th Habitat House in Milwaukee.

The trusses arrived on schedule, and we were ready.  We were exhausted, but ready.

The hard work was just beginning...here come the trusses.  This was my vantage point.  I took this photo quickly before I had to get to work.

By Friday the house was completely framed and sided...all that remains is the inside work over the next few months.  I am looking forward to working with this group as we finish the house...they are wonderful people and were great to work with in the hot weather.
