Are you Kidding Me...Again?!

By Brian Gotter

Breaking news on the Favre front...oh boy, about 30 of Favre's family and friends have booked rooms at the Midway Motor Lodge (good call on hotel choice..just a block from hotel and in the middle of the bar district!) for the Packer - Viking game at Lambeau on November 1st.  I look forward to seeing Deanna sitting in the Midway Motor Lodge lounge listening to karaoke like she has done for so many Saturday nights before a game.  Maybe we will see the entire family duck into the back door of Favre's Steakhouse across the street for a dinner in the backroom like they usually do?  Oh boy!  It is a sign from Our Favre (who art thou no longer allowed in Lambeau) that he is coming back and playing for Vikes.  This just gets better every day.  Hopefully Fran Tarkenton will light up Favre again..that was awesome.

In addition to that breaking news, this bit of news came out late Tuesday.

From ESPN – take it for what it’s worth.

The Minnesota Vikings have at least temporarily suspended their pursuit of Brett Favre after the retired quarterback failed to report to organized team activities that began Tuesday as head coach Brad Childress had mandated, according to team and league sources.

The Vikings conveyed their decision in a phone call from vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski to Bus Cook, the agent who represents Favre. An eventual agreement returning Favre to the NFL for a 19th season, this in a Vikings purple uniform, remains possible. The quarterback was encouraged to continue rehabilitation following arthroscopic surgery performed two weeks ago to repair a partially torn biceps tendon. According to sources, no timeframe has been discussed for the Vikings and Favre to reconsider their positions.

ESPN reported Monday that Childress had established a deadline of this week for Favre to make his decision. Favre declined to make a commitment because he remains uncertain that the surgery has been completely successful.

Hello Vikings..this is Earth calling.  Seriously, what planet have you guys been on these past few years or are you still secretly parting on Lake Minnetonka and can't remember all of Favre's antics?  You are mad Favre has not shown up for team activities.  He hates Training Camp and has admitted that for years.  As a result, your little team activities mean nothing to "his arrogance".  Come on Brad..at least play the game a little.  You make Favre feel like you can't live without him and he will come crawling (because that is how he moves these days) to you by the end of August when camp is completed and the first game is about to begin.  Heck, he may pull a Rodger Clemens and wait until the Packer game to show up.  Have fun with him...you want him..that means you get all the baggage as well.

BTW, I do like the wording "temporarily suspended their pursuit".  From the sounds of it, your wishy -washiness will be perfect for Favre.
