Welcome Back, GotterOuchBy Brian GotterI have been busy with snow, but now that my shift is done, how about them Packers? Stealing from the great song "The Bears Still Suck" here is my version. The Defense still sucks, the defense still sucks, they really, really, really, really suck, yes the Defense STILL SUCKKKKKKKS! I feel better now. Wow, yet again, the defense can't stop a team to win the game. The new punter did his job and kicked the ball to the 3 with 1:40 left in the game...stop the Texans, but 72,000 fans in Lambeau knew it would not happen. The Texans marched down the field with ease and kicked the game winning field goal. After the game, the stadium was disgusted and I thought a guy in the bathroom was going to be beat to a pulp when he said that we would have won if Favre was here. Were you watching this game all the guys shouted. Rodgers was not on the field at the end of the game 2 weeks in a row and choked the game away. The defense gave up 549 yards...414 passing to a southern dome team in temperatures near 10 degrees. Pathetic. No team is afraid of the Packers defense..they actually want to play them. Rodgers was not perfect...he struggled on 3rd downs...1 for 10, but had 2 touchdowns and almost 300 yards. Grants had more than 100 yards rushing. The Pack is moving the ball and scoring almost 30 points per game, but it is not enough with this defense. In addition, the Texans had 4 turnovers, yet the Packers lost...that is bad! To make it worse, the refs must have been from Houston. Tina thinks all sports are fixed, and after Sunday I would agree. After almost every big play, the Packers were called for a penalty and most were ticky tack calls...stupid. Either way, it took away big first downs and even a punt return for a touchdown. Things are not going the Packers way this season. Now it is on to next season. With the Packers not making the playoffs, that makes 4 years in a row that the team the lost the NFC Championship Game the previous season failed to make the playoffs. The Pack needs to spend some of the $40 million below the salary cap on defense this off season. With all that, I still love my team and always will, but I can get frustrated. I once heard the saying (back in the 80s)...the Packers are like you kids. You don't love them because they are good, you love them because they are yours. Go Packers.
