Shame On You Favre

By Brian Gotter

I am sure most of you have heard the report that Favre stooped to another low and called Detroit a few weeks ago just before they played the Packers and he asked to talk with the coaches.  For more than an hour he shared Packer's plays and secrets.  While there is no rule against this behavior (and coaches and players that change teams do it all the time for their new team), the NFL frowns upon it.  What makes the Favre situation even worse...he did it for a team that he is not playing with...he called them and did it out of spite.  What a sore loser...a baby!  Nice going Brett!

I believe this story to be true and if he called Detroit, you know he had to call Minnesota and Chicago as well.  It just makes me even more ticked at Favre and I have now lost any respect I still had for him after all he did a few months ago.

Charles Woodson is one of my favorite players and he was one that wanted Favre, back but after yesterday I think he realizes what Favre is all about.  His comment to reporters after the game was simple: "There is no honor in what he did."  YES!!!!!!!!!!!

I have not heard from many of you that emailed a few months ago when this was all going done.  I was rough on Favre and many of you had no problem letting me know how you felt about my comments.  I was telling the truth as to what had happened and Favre just keeps digging a deeper hole and proving that I was correct.   I am curious has to how all of you Favre Loyalists feel now?  In addition, I was right about Rodgers.  I have been keeping my mouth shut, but how can you not be impressed with Rodgers?  Many thought he would be the downfall of the team.  Instead he has been the consistent bright spot...he could be a huge star.  I was hoping Rodgers would bring a future to the Packers like Brady did for New England after Bledsoe left...the team was even better.  It has only been 7 weeks, but I am liking what I see.

By the way, why does Favre always text  his responses to ESPN?  What ever happened to facing the people and doing an interview?  I have been told that Favre changed once his dad died..he has become a major jerk.  His dad must be rolling over in his grave after all this.

Obviously people are starting to forget about Brett.  The bashing of Rodgers has been very quiet over the past month and the interest in Jets games is fading fast.  The first two weeks of the season Jets games were getting ratings less than Packer games but they were very impressive.  To put it into numbers...the Packers average a 38 rating, the Jets were getting a 30 on Milwaukee TV at the beginning of the season.  The Packers are still getting upper 30s and even 40s, while the Jets games that are shown in Milwaukee have now dropped to 10.  Some are still watching, but it is clear that people are finally moving on.

Thanks Brett and great game yesterday against pathetic Oakland.  I think I heard it on the radio this morning that you and the Jets are lousy...and that was from a diehard Jets fan.
