Insurance and Loans for Everyone

By Brian Gotter

I was always told to stay away from religion and politics...and I do..but I have to make a slight exception with all that is going on.

First, congratulations to all of us...we taxpayers now own banks and an insurance company.  After all the struggles over the years by politicians, we taxpayers have stepped up (without being asked) and have bailed out (hopefully) banks and insurance companies that have taken our money over the years and made very bad and corrupt investment decisions.  Now we have been told that we have to bail them out.  What about the people having trouble feeding their kids or keeping their home?  How about bailing us all out when we go to the gas station?  It took me 18 months to sell my house in Minnesota...where is my bail out?  Geez.

What about the small companies failing everyday but they are not significant enough in the government's eyes to be helped out in these tough times.  What does this tell our children?  Powerful and corrupt companies get bailed out while the good guy struggles to make ends meet.  The All American Slogan.

What gets me more is the money the presidential candidates raise and spend on a campaign.  It has always irked me since we have all these issues in our country that could use this money, but this year it is especially sensitive.  Both candidates this week had fund raisers that brought in between $5 to $9 million in one night.  If you are about change, put that money toward helping our country instead of running a negative ad.  I realize you have to raise and spend money for your campaign and these ads pay my salary, but enough is enough.  The media is always saying that the candidate who raises the most money has the greatest advantage....very sad.  This country's economy is crumbling and they are spending money like they have their own mint.  It is not smart campaigning...you are not enduring yourself to the struggling public.

Someone sent me the best picture I have seen in awhile and I put it on the news yesterday and many of you have been asking to see it.  I called it shattered dreams and it was so fitting with the stock market.  A porta potty at the end of a rainbow..I call it "Pot of Gold". Good luck with your money.
