How about them Brewers?  I was hoping and praying, but as I blogged on Friday, I did not think the Brewers would make the playoffs.  They proved me wrong and Milwaukee  has exploded with excitement.  It has been 26 years...I was 10 years old and remember the 1982 season like it was yesterday.  I remember crying with joy when we beat the California Angels and then crying more than a week later when John Tudor and the St Louis Cardinals beat us in Game 7 of the World Series.  I was crushed.  Who knew it would take 26 years after that defeat to get back into the  post season.  Thanks to the Florida Marlins for beating the Mets for us.

My aunt and uncle were at our house yesterday after the Race for the Cure and our TV remote got a workout.  We kept flipping between the Packers, Brewers and Mets games.  My aunt had a tear in her eye....we were all jumping around with excitement.  Remember, my aunt Bonnie is a diehard Brewer fan.  She would sit in the stadium on nights when there were only 5,000 fans in attendance just a few seasons ago.

I am so excited for fans like my aunt, this city and for the Brewers (and Uecker...man was he excited yesterday)...this is what it is all about.  I am still concerned about the Brewers hitting.  They are getting clutch and dramatic home runs, but the bats are very silent.  The pitching has turned it up a few notches and we owe everything to CC.  I knew the trade was going to be big, but he has delivered bigger than anyone ever imagined.  He is the reason we are in the playoffs.  He is untouchable right now....7 complete games since we acquired him...you rarely hear of a picture getting 1 complete game an entire season anymore...plus he did it on 3 days rest.  Thank you CC...you are the man.

We are still struggling at the plate, but we are in the playoffs now and anything can happen.  Go Brewers.
