What a great weekend. Friday night Tina and I had a dinner and then meet a group of TMJ4 friends out for drinks...good times.
Saturday was sunny and warm and Tina, Ali and myself went to a farm to pick pumpkins. All was running like a crazy kid all over the place...she loved it and wanted every pumpkin. We also bought hay bales and corn stalks and gourds...Ali had a great time picking out the strange looking gourds. I worked on the lawn while Ali took a nap and then we went to the Wine and Harvest Fest in Cedarburg with neighbors in the late afternoon and evening. It was a great evening and the weather was perfect. We then hung out at neighbors and had a bonfire until the kids had to go to bed.
Sunday was gameday. We headed up to Green Bay in the morning and had lunch with my aunt and uncle and then we all headed to Bay Beach so Ali could have some fun on rides. If you have never been to Bay Beach, it is the best place to take a kid...it has not changed since I was a kid. Rides are still $.25 to $.50....that's it. I will have pictures later in the week, but Ali just ran from ride to ride. My favorite as a kid and still to this day is the train ride along the Bay...it was windy and cool, but the sun felt great.
From there, Tina and I picked up our best friends, Joe and Christine from Hudson, WI, at their hotel and we headed to Lambeau to meet our friends Mark and Nancy to do some tailgating. We were there by 3:30...what a great afternoon for tailgating.
We had steak sandwiches, grilled veggies, potatoes and all kinds of appetizers, including salsa made my Tina and me. We each made our own version from all the potatoes in our garden. Tina's is to die for, mine will kill you. Both are delicious, but Tina's is chunky and full of flavor, mine is more saucy, flavorful and has habenero peppers in it. It was smokin hot...love it. Tina also made her special cream cheese stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon...my mouth is watering just thinking about them. A few were hot and almost knocked us on our butts, but man are they good.
After the game we all hung out at Curley's, then Stadium View and Anduzzi's. We finally called it a night by 2:30am...we miss Joe and Christine a lot! Man do we have fun and laugh when we are all together. We got to bed at my aunt and uncles by 3am and Ali woke us up at 6:30...it was a long drive home in the fog Monday morning.
