I have a wonderful nephew and niece in Oklahoma City that I do not get to see nearly enough, but love with all my heart.  Drew is 9 and Emma will be 5...they are so much fun.  Drew has always been my buddy and when we see each other we are inseparable

My sister called me this morning to share some very good news about Drew.  He has been playing basketball in the winter and baseball in the summer the past few years, but decided to not play baseball this year.  He wanted to play soccer.  Emma even got into the fun and signed up.  My sister's weekends are now consumed with soccer games...she has become a soccer mom!

Anyway, Drew was playing over the weekend and a coach from a team in a higher league approached Charlie, my brother in law.  Drew was playing goalie and impressed the guy.  He asked if he would be interested in trying out for the team.  Drew was all smiles.  He tried out last night and made the team.  This is a big deal.  It is a year round commitment as they take the games inside over the winter months.  How cool.  I guess Drew loves playing goalie because he gets to dive around.  He has always loved to jump and fall  to the ground...it was just what Drew did.  By not playing baseball this summer, Drew may have found his sport.  He also got contacts yesterday and can now see better than ever.  He will never let a ball get passed him now.  I smell big scholarships to Universities!
