Tom MurrayTom Murray joined TODAY’S TMJ4 in January 2007. At 6'7", he is one of the tallest television journalists in the country.

Tom came to Milwaukee from KAAL-TV in Rochester, MN where he reported and anchored that station’s weekend newscasts.  Tom is a graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism Mass Communication at Arizona State University.  He won some of the nation’s top college journalism honors including the Broadcast Education Association's Best of Festival award.  He won second place at the Hearst Journalism Awards National Championships.  While attending ASU, Tom visited universities across the country to cover football and men's basketball for Arizona State's Sun Devil Sports Network. He also hosted a weekend radio show on the world famous oldies station in Phoenix, KOOL-FM.

Tom is active with his church.  In summer 2006, Tom traveled to the other side of the world to do Christian mission outreach in Thailand.  “I owe everything I have to my faith,” he said.

Hockey is a passion in Tom’s life.  He played growing up and is currently a referee.

Tom’s voice has been heard in many stadiums, arenas, gyms and rinks. He has been the public address voice for events including the 2000 NCAA National Volleyball Championship and teams including the Minnesota Ice Hawks and Arizona State Sun Devils.

Tom grew up in Portage, Michigan. He got his start in broadcast journalism at WKZO-AM in Kalamazoo as a news reporter and anchor while he was still a student at Portage Central High School. He is a two-time state champion in the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Associaton's broadcast competition. Tom’s parents and younger brothers still live Southern Michigan.  He has an aunt, uncle and five cousins that live in Grafton.
