AnchorsJay Olstad
Jay started out his broadcast journalism career in college at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as a reporter/anchor at WAXX/WAYY radio. He eventually graduated with a major in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Political Science. While attending UWEC, he was a member of the prestigious Concert Choir and Singing Statesmen. Jay has won several awards for his work as a general assignment reporter, including an Edward R. Murrow Award he shared with his colleagues for continuing coverage of a teacher strike in Montana. And even though he has spent much of his journalism career in Wisconsin, he is a Minnesota boy deep down. Jay grew up in Mound, Minnesota on beautiful Lake Minnetonka, just west of Minneapolis. When Jay is not chasing down a story, he loves to spend time with his beautiful wife and daughter, along with family and friends. He is the youngest in his family with three older sisters, not to mention, he has a nephew and four nieces he adores. Jay considers his parents to be his all-time heroes. If you can not find him spending time with all of them, check the golf course or along the lakeshore. Jay is thrilled to call Milwaukee home.
