Melanie Stout joined TODAY'S TMJ4 in March 2000 as a general assignment reporter. She didn't have to move far for her new position as she had been anchoring and reporting for Newsradio 620 WTMJ. Melanie is a graduate of Drury College in Springfield, Missouri. She majored in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. She began her career as an anchor/reporter at KTTS AM/FM in Springfield. She moved on to WDAF-AM in Kansas City Missouri before coming to Milwaukee.
In addition to reporting, Melanie is the host of AVANTE! The show spotlights Hispanic successes and opportunities in Milwaukee, and aired on TODAY'S TMJ4.
When Melanie is not working she enjoys participating in community events.
Melanie has danced since age five, and tried to rekindle her passion for dancing by signing up for lessons at the Milwaukee Ballet. Unfortunately, Melanie kept missing class because she was constantly called upon to cover breaking news. She has decided to hang up her ballet shoes and stick with reporting.
In her spare time Melanie enjoys cooking and has a special recipe for garlic clams and pasta. She also likes listening to live Blues and Jazz. Melanie's other hobbies include biking, golfing, and boating.
