Before moving to MIlwaukee, Yona spent the last two and a half years as a reporter at the local NBC affiliate in Michigan's beautiful and scenic Upper Peninsula. During her time there, she covered four counties, shot her own footage, and also filled-in as an anchor. As the Escanaba bureau reporter, she experienced adventures like flying a plane for a series piece, and reporting live from the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina. While Yona was at TV6, she was named Michigan's Best Reporter by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters.

Yona received a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of West Florida in 2008. She's orginally from Pensacola, Florida, but is now proud to call Milwaukee her home.
When she's not on the news, you'll find Yona traveling, volunteering or engrossed in a good book.
